About the Opportunity:
Our client is a growing company serving the agricultural industry and is seeking an experienced Agricultural Sales Representative to expand customer relationships throughout California's Central Valley. This is an excellent opportunity for a relationship-driven sales professional who understands the agricultural community and has experience working directly with growers, particularly within permanent crops.
Role Overview:
The Agricultural Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new business, building relationships with growers, and managing customer accounts throughout an assigned territory. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of California agriculture, an established network within the grower community, and a successful track record of consultative sales. This individual should be comfortable working independently in the field while collaborating with internal teams to support customers throughout the sales process.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with growers throughout the assigned territory Identify prospective customers and generate new business opportunities Build a strong pipeline through networking, referrals, industry relationships, and direct outreach Meet with growers to understand their operations, challenges, and business needs Manage the sales process from initial introduction through close and ongoing account management Develop long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities for continued growth Build relationships with agricultural industry professionals and referral partners Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful customer implementation and ongoing support Maintain accurate sales activity, customer information, and territory plans within the company's CRMAssist with territory budgeting, forecasting, and sales planning Provide ongoing customer support and serve as a primary point of contact within the territory Travel regularly throughout California's Central Valley to meet with customers and prospects
Qualifications:
Proven agricultural sales experience Experience selling products, services, or solutions directly to growers Established relationships within California's Central Valley agricultural community strongly preferred Experience working with permanent crop, fruit, and/or nut growers highly preferred Demonstrated success in consultative sales and new business development Strong understanding of the agricultural industry and the challenges facing California growers Ability to establish credibility and build long-term customer relationships Self-motivated and comfortable managing a territory independently Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skillsCRM experience preferred Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
