Role Description: The Manufacturing (Product) Design Engineer is a full-time, in-person role based in Arroyo Grande, CA, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for designing and optimizing wastewater treatment plants and related industrial equipment, translating functional requirements into detailed mechanical and electrical designs. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with the Design team to develop CAD models and drawings, providing direction on bills of materials, collaborating with fabrication and assembly teams, and supporting manufacturing process improvements. The engineer will conduct design reviews, and ensure that designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting design issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in product performance and manufacturability.
Qualifications: Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with experience applying engineering principles to industrial or process equipment. Familiarity with CAD tools for 3D modeling, drafting, and creating fabrication-ready drawings. Experience in Product Design, including concept development, prototyping, and design for manufacturability and assembly. Take inputs from multiple disciplines and evaluate and implement design parameters for the systems Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, schematics, and process diagrams, with strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Comfort working in a manufacturing environment, including collaboration with shop personnel, site visits, and occasional field support. Standardize design and generate template documentation to support products. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate across engineering, operations, and management. Familiarity with wastewater treatment processes, fluid systems, or environmental engineering is beneficial but not required.
Pay Range: $95K-$140KThis is a full-time position with benefits. Pay is DOE. Applicant must have a clean DMV record. There may be occasional traveling involved with this position.
