About the role
The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the world’s largest association of eye physicians and surgeons, is seeking a Member Services Representative to join our Membership Division. This role plays a critical part in supporting the Academy’s membership growth, engagement, and retention initiatives.
As the first point of contact for members and prospective members, you will deliver high-quality service, manage membership data for more than 32,000 members, and support recruitment and retention campaigns. You’ll collaborate across teams to maintain data accuracy, streamline processes, and ensure members receive timely and effective support.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as primary contact for member inquiries, ensuring a professional and service-oriented experience.
Support execution of membership recruitment and retention campaigns.
Maintain data integrity in the membership database.
Collaborate with Finance to resolve payment issues and ensure accurate membership records.
Contribute to projects such as website content updates and mailing list services.
Support membership operations at the Annual Meeting — the Academy’s largest member event.
Qualifications:
3+ years office and customer service experience.
2+ years’ experience with Personify or similar CRM.
Excellent written and verbal communication; Spanish language skills a plus.
Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work independently with professionalism.
2 years of college coursework preferred.
