About the role
Project Manager – ETRM Implementation (Senior)About KWA AnalyticsKWA Analytics is a leading consulting firm specializing in the advisory, implementation, and enhancement of Energy and Commodity Trading & Risk Management (ETRM/CTRM) systems for financial and physical commodities, energy, and capital markets clients. We partner with industry-leading platforms including Open Link Endur/Findur, Beacon Platform, and other best-in-class ETRM solutions to deliver transformative outcomes for our clients.
Role Overview:
As a Senior ETRM Implementation Project Manager at KWA Analytics, you will own the end-to-end delivery of complex ETRM/CTRM system implementation, upgrade, and integration projects for clients across the energy, commodities, capital markets, and treasury sectors. You will serve as the primary delivery authority — bridging the gap between client business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams — to ensure that ETRM solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and fully aligned with client trading and risk management objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Own full project lifecycle delivery of project implementation and upgrade engagements, from scoping and initiation through go-live and hypercare, covering front-office trade capture, mid-office risk, and back-office settlements workflows. Define and maintain project scope, including commodity coverage (power, gas, oil, metals, agricultural, financial derivatives), asset classes, trading books, risk methodologies, and regulatory reporting requirements. Develop and manage detailed project plans (using MS Project or equivalent), incorporating ETRM-specific workstreams such as system configuration, data migration, interface/integration build (ERP, scheduling, market data, SCADA), SIT, UAT, and production cutover. Lead cross-functional project teams comprising ETRM functional consultants, technical developers, client SMEs, and vendor representatives, providing clear direction, issue escalation pathways, and delivery accountability. Identify, track, and mitigate ETRM-specific project risks, including data migration complexity, interface dependencies, regulatory compliance gaps (e.g., EMIR, Dodd-Frank, REMIT), and client organizational readiness. Drive client UAT programs, coordinating test scenario design across trading, risk, and operations teams to validate end-to-end ETRM functionality against business requirements. Manage vendor relationships (e.g., Open Link/Ion, Beacon Platform) and coordinate third-party technical and licensing deliverables as part of the broader project plan. Oversee data migration strategy and execution, including trade history, static data, curve/market data, and position migration into the target ETRM platform. Communicate project status, milestones, risks, and key decisions to senior client stakeholders (C-suite, Trading Desk Heads, Risk Officers, IT leadership) and internal KWA leadership in a clear, structured manner. Manage project budgets and resource allocation, tracking actuals vs. forecasts and proactively addressing variances across multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed teams. Conduct structured post-implementation reviews, capturing ETRM delivery lessons learned and feeding insights back into KWA's delivery frameworks and methodology.
Requirements:
Essential Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar); advanced degree a plus. PMI PMP certification is required; additional certifications (e.g., PMI-ACP, Prince 2) are advantageous. Minimum 8 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years directly managing ETRM/CTRM system implementations (e.g., Open Link Endur/Findur, Beacon Platform, Allegro, Triple Point/Hitachi, Aspect, Brady, or equivalent).Demonstrated, hands-on delivery of full-lifecycle ETRM projects, spanning requirements gathering, system configuration, interface development, data migration, testing (SIT/UAT), cutover planning, and post-go-live support. Deep understanding of commodity and energy trading workflows, including physical and financial trade capture, position management, P&L attribution, mark-to-market valuation, credit risk, and settlements/invoicing. Familiarity with ETRM integration landscapes, including connections to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), market data providers (Platts, Argus, Bloomberg), scheduling/nomination systems, and SCADA/operational systems. Working knowledge of energy and commodity regulatory frameworks relevant to ETRM implementations (e.g., EMIR, Dodd-Frank/CFTC, REMIT, MiFID II reporting obligations).Proven ability to manage complex, multi-workstream programs across geographically distributed client and delivery teams. Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal), with demonstrated experience presenting to and managing expectations of senior trading, risk, and IT stakeholders. Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage project scope, change control, and budget governance on client-facing engagements. Experience managing Agile/hybrid delivery methodologies in the context of ETRM system implementations. Preferred Prior experience working for an ETRM software vendor (e.g., Ion/Open Link, Beacon) or a specialist ETRM consulting firm. Exposure to multiple commodity markets (power, natural gas, crude/refined products, LNG, metals, agricultural, FX/interest rate derivatives).Experience managing ETRM cloud migration or SaaS deployment projects. Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
