About the role
Do you have a friendly pet that enjoys meeting new people? If so, we would love to hear from you! At Suncrest Hospice, volunteers can take their pets with good dispositions to meet our patients one-on-one or in group settings, depending on what works best for you and your pet. We welcome all kinds of therapy/support animals. In the Chicagoland Area, Suncrest Hospice serves families in Cook, DuPage, Kane, & Lake counties and serves patients in long-term care facilities and in their own homes. We are especially looking for volunteers willing to serve patients and families in and around Melrose Park. All Suncrest Hospice volunteers must be 16 or older and are required to complete a background check, be fingerprinted, and complete TB and drug testing at no charge to you. Or contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Amy Farley AmFarley@suncrestcare.com
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
