Role Description: The Office Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing daily administrative operations that support the Johnson House Historic Site, Inc. This role manages office workflows, maintains digital records, coordinates calendars, and supports communication among staff, partners, and visitors. The Office Manager responds to inquiries, provides high-quality customer service via phone and email, and ensures that remote office tools and equipment are functioning effectively. Additional responsibilities include preparing reports, assisting with scheduling meetings and virtual events, tracking basic financial or budget-related information, and helping to refine administrative processes for efficiency. The role requires proactive problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating regularly with the broader team.
Qualifications: Strong Communication skills for clear email, phone, and virtual interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Administrative Assistance and Office Administration experience to manage calendars, records, and day-to-day office processes. Familiarity with Office Equipment and digital tools, including common office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, shared drives).Customer Service skills to respond professionally to inquiries, support visitors and partners, and represent the organization positively. Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, including reliable internet access, self-management, and time management skills. Attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate documentation and supporting basic reporting or recordkeeping. Experience in nonprofit, cultural, or educational organizations is beneficial, especially in roles involving public engagement or administration. Relevant education or training in office administration, business, communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
