About the Role: Our firm is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Expert to join a client engagement supporting a large cryptocurrency marketplace. This is a client-facing role where you will be embedded with the client's finance team, handling core accounting operations with a specific focus on digital asset borrowing, lending, and collateral transactions. This is a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. The client operates in a demanding, rapidly evolving industry, and this role requires a genuine willingness to work hard and adapt quickly. Hours regularly exceed 40 per week, and workload intensifies significantly during month-end close and throughout the full month following each quarter-end. Candidates should be comfortable with a high-accountability environment and variable hours tied to the close calendar. What You'll Do: Support the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of assigned areas (this role does not own the overall close process)Prepare and review journal entries, including complex entries related to digital asset lending, borrowing, and collateral arrangements Perform account reconciliations across crypto and fiat-denominated accounts, including exchange wallets, custodial accounts, and collateral positions Partner with the client's finance and treasury teams to ensure proper accounting treatment for digital asset transactions Identify and resolve discrepancies between internal records, on-chain data, and third-party statements Support internal controls and documentation standards for accounting processes involving digital assets Assist with audit requests and provide supporting schedules and analysis as needed Communicate clearly and professionally with client stakeholders, representing our firm's standards of quality and service
What We're Looking For
Requirements: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant exposure to accounting operations (close, reconciliations, journal entries)Direct experience accounting for borrowing, lending, and collateral arrangements — cryptocurrency or other digital asset experience strongly preferred Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP as applied to financial instruments and, ideally, digital assets Comfort working with high transaction volumes and complex, evolving accounting treatments Willingness and ability to work more than 40 hours per week as needed, particularly during month-end close and the full month following quarter-end Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with each of the following: Net Suite, Flo Qast, Google Suite, and Mac/macOSProven ability to use AI and automation tools to improve accounting workflows (e.g., Libre Chat, Gemini, Glean, or similar tools)Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the professionalism to represent our firm directly to a client Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting, with availability during U.S. business hours daily Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plus but not required
Nice to Have: Experience working at a publicly traded company Basic SQL knowledge and experience with reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Snowflake, Looker)Basic knowledge of digital assets and the crypto economy, or a strong desire to learn Role Details This is a full-time employee position with our firm, initially assigned to serve one of our clients in the digital asset/crypto marketplace space Client assignment is expected to be a minimum of 6 months, and may be extended based on the client's ongoing needs, or you may be reassigned to other client-facing projects with our firm Fully remote position — must be willing to work U.S. hours
