R&D Electrical Engineering Technician
Location: Marietta, Ohio
Pay: $27.60/hour
Duration: 12-month contract Relocation: KYO Group is open to providing relocation assistance for qualified candidatesKYO Group is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineering Technician to support Thermo Fisher Scientific's Research and Development Technology Center in Marietta, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced military electrical, avionics, electronics, maintenance, instrumentation, or engineering technicians.
Responsibilities: Build, wire, modify, and troubleshoot prototype electrical and electromechanical systems- Assemble electrical test fixtures, wiring harnesses, control panels, and prototype systems- Install and troubleshoot motors, compressors, fans, relays, switches, sensors, contactors, and power supplies- Perform soldering and electronic-component rework- Read and work from electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams- Support engineering prototype builds and design iterations- Set up and execute electrical, functional, reliability, and performance testing- Use oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power meters, and data loggers- Configure instrumentation and data-acquisition equipment- Troubleshoot control boards, sensors, actuators, wiring, and electrical interfaces- Support accelerated-life and fault-condition testing- Document test setups, observations, failures, and results- Support regulatory testing such as UL, CE, and CSA- Work directly with electrical, controls, mechanical, and refrigeration engineers Qualifications- Associate degree, technical school, apprenticeship, military technical training, or equivalent practical experience- 3+ years of hands-on electrical, electronics, avionics, engineering-test, prototype, or manufacturing experience- Experience troubleshooting electrical or electromechanical systems- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation- Experience using electrical test equipment- Hands-on soldering or electronic repair experience- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability Preferred Experience- HVAC/R, refrigeration, thermal systems, or laboratory equipment- PLCs and industrial controls- Data acquisition systems- Prototype development and reliability testing- Motor-control circuits and instrumentation Military technical training and equivalent military experience are specifically encouraged to apply.
