About the role
The Department of Finance in the Leo J. Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College invites applicants for a Professor of Practice position in Finance beginning Fall 2027. The incoming faculty member would be part of a diverse and inclusive faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise. This position carries a non-tenure-track status. This is a full-time on-campus position, and a qualified candidate must teach on the physical Stonehill College campus. The Meehan School of Business is home to a state-of-the-art instructional facility built in August 2019. The business and innovation activities housed in the new building include a team-based learning classroom, one-button studio, and Capital Markets research and instruction room. The adaptive classrooms with the latest technology encourage interdisciplinary student, faculty, and industry interactions. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program in the Meehan School of Business is AACSB-accredited and offers majors in Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, International Business, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Sport Management, and Talent & Human Resources Management. The Meehan School of Business also offers minors in Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Healthcare Management. At the graduate level, Stonehill College offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA), as well as a Master of Professional Studies in Data Analytics and a Master of Science in Marketing. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses. The course load is 8 classes per academic year (i.e., 4 per semester) and may include: Corporate Finance

Financial Technology The faculty member will serve as advisor to Stonehill College's Financial Management Association (FMA) chapter and actively support student professional development through programming, mentoring, and engagement with finance professionals. Responsibilities will include maintaining and strengthening relationships with FMA chapter alumni to foster networking, mentoring, and career opportunities for students. Consistent with Stonehill College's commitment to student recruitment and engagement, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in undergraduate admission activities, including Open Houses and Admitted Student Welcome Days. The faculty member will also contribute to virtual and in-person engagement initiatives designed to connect prospective students and their families with the Finance program and the broader Stonehill community. We seek applicants with a strong interest in teaching and applied practice in finance. Candidates must, at a minimum, hold an MBA with a concentration in finance or an MS degree in finance. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is highly desirable. The applicant must show a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and enjoy working closely with student advisees to establish academic and professional goals. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to Stonehill College's commitment to experiential education and will advise and mentor students through experiential learning opportunities, including oversight of the student-managed investment fund.
