- HALDB, Fast Path (DEDBs), and DBD/PSB GenerationPOSITION OVERVIEWThis role sits within the enterprise mainframe infrastructure department, reporting directly to the Director of Infrastructure Engineering, and is designed to solve critical database optimization, migration, and disaster recovery bottlenecks for mission-critical systems. The specialist will lead complex migrations to IBM IMS Tools and ensure high availability, performance tuning, and proactive space management across legacy enterprise environments.
- Lead and execute complex migrations to IBM IMS Tools from 3rd party products, developing comprehensive project plans across planning, conversion, implementation, and cutover phases
- Install, configure, and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment alongside IBM IMS Tools to ensure optimal system performance
- Evaluate change requests, review new versions of IMS for functionality, and maintain robust database structures including HALDB, Fast Path databases, and secondary indexes
- Establish enterprise policies and procedures pertaining to database management, disaster recovery, security, maintenance, and space utilization
