new leash on lifeCoatesville (PA)
About the role
We are looking for a volunteer with dog training and/or dog behavior experience. Preference is given to certified dog trainers and animal behaviorists, but any and all knowledge/experience in dog training/behavior is appreciated. When volunteering with New Leash on Life USA, volunteering is what you make of it. There is no minimum commitment requirement. If you would like to consistently volunteer on a weekly or semi-weekly basis we can coordinate a schedule with you.
Responsibilities:
Attend or assist with Dog Training workshops in the prisons or in our office in Philadelphia Attend or assist with evaluating dogs at the shelter to be selected for our program Observe or assist with meets between our adoptable dogs, adopters, and their existing pets
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
