About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to join a well-established mortgage lending organization in Tampa, FL. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated MLO who enjoys working directly with borrowers, developing referral relationships, and growing their mortgage business.
Responsibilities: Originate residential mortgage loans from initial consultation through closing. Build and maintain relationships with borrowers, Realtors, and other referral partners. Generate new business through networking, referrals, prospecting, and existing relationships. Review borrower income, credit, assets, and overall financial information to determine appropriate loan options. Guide borrowers through pre-qualification, pre-approval, application, processing, and closing. Manage and maintain an active loan pipeline while keeping clients informed of loan status. Work closely with processors and underwriters to resolve conditions and keep files moving. Recommend suitable mortgage products based on each borrower's financial situation. Ensure loan files and documentation meet company and regulatory requirements.
Requirements: Previous experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator, Mortgage Loan Officer, or Mortgage Banker. Strong residential mortgage lending and loan origination experience. Active NMLS license and ability to originate in Florida. Proven ability to generate business and develop referral relationships. Good understanding of credit, income analysis, DTI, loan structure, and underwriting requirements. Experience managing a mortgage pipeline from application through closing. Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with processing and underwriting teams.
