About the role

📱 Sales Lead🏢 Remote | 💼 Full-Time
Reports to: VP, SalesAbout Sprocket Sports
Sprocket Sports is the all-in-one business management platform for youth sports clubs. Registration and payments, websites, mobile apps, marketing and communications, scheduling, tryouts, team management, player development, and financial tools live in one system, built around how clubs actually operate. We serve competitive clubs across soccer, volleyball, hockey, lacrosse, basketball, baseball, and softball. The market is moving. Legacy platforms are being sunset, acquired, and merged, and thousands of clubs that have outgrown their tools are re-evaluating what runs their business. We're growing the sales team to meet that moment.
The Role: Sales Leads own Sprocket's core mid-market segment: established competitive clubs, often running on a legacy registration system, a patchwork of point solutions, or a platform in the middle of an ownership change. This is a full-cycle role. You prospect, run discovery, demo, build the business case, and close, working primarily with executive directors, Directors of Coaching, club presidents, and boards. This role sits at the intersection of two things most candidates only have one of. You know the youth sports world well enough that club leaders take your call. And you run a disciplined sales process well enough that the calls turn into first demos, and the demos turn into signed contracts. We need both.
What You'll Do: Own the full sales cycle for clubs in your book, from first touch to signed contract. Build your own pipeline. Outbound phone, email, and social; events; referrals from our client base. Inbound is a bonus, not the plan. Run a high, consistent volume of first demos. First-demo volume is the leading indicator we manage the business on, and you'll own yours. Lead discovery that uncovers how the club actually makes money, where staff time goes, and what breaks during registration and tryouts. Disqualify early when there's no fit. Deliver demos built around the club's operating model, not a feature tour. Show how Sprocket consolidates what they're running today. Build the business case: Staff time recovered, increased revenue, and systems replaced. Navigate board and multi-stakeholder decisions, and work deals around the seasonal calendar: fiscal year, registration windows, and tryout timing. Hand off cleanly to Implementation and Customer Success with clear documentation of what was sold and what was promised. Represent Sprocket at tournaments, showcases, league meetings, and industry events in your territory. Keep your CRM accurate and your forecast honest. Activities, stages, next steps, and close dates are current every week. Bring competitive intelligence back to the team. What you hear in the field shapes how we sell.
What We're Looking For:
  • The non-negotiables
  • Youth sports fluency. You've worked in, for, or alongside competitive youth clubs as a coach, DOC, administrator, board member, or vendor and you have solid existing relationships. You know the difference between a rec program and a travel club, when registration opens, and who actually signs.
  • A sales track record. Two or more years in a full-cycle, quota-carrying B2B sales role with documented attainment. Bring the numbers.
  • Self-generated pipeline. You generate your own first meetings and you don't need someone to tell you to pick up the phone. You treat activity as the input you control.
  • Real discovery skills. You lead with questions, listen more than you talk, and aren’t afraid to challenge a prospect.
  • Comfort with the numbers. You can walk a club treasurer through a simple ROI story.
  • Strongly preferred
  • Experience selling software or payments to youth sports clubs, leagues, associations, or similar membership organizations.
  • Relationships at the director or DOC level in one or more of our sports in [Region].Experience closing deals that require nonprofit board or multi-stakeholder approval.
Nice to have:
  • Playing, coaching, or administrative background in a competitive club program.
  • Familiarity/Relationships with governing bodies and competitive leagues (US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer, USA Volleyball, USA Hockey, USA Lacrosse, and others). Background in payments or fintech.
  • Training in a structured sales methodology.
  • Travel25-33% to club events, tournaments, and client meetings
  • Why Sprocket
  • Multi-sport reach. Your network isn't capped at one sport. We sell across seven, so every relationship you have in youth sports is in play.
  • A system of record, not a point tool. Clubs run their registration, payments, and operations on Sprocket. You're selling the system a club runs on, not a nice-to-have.
  • Timing. Legacy platforms are sunsetting and consolidating. Clubs are being forced to re-evaluate, and that creates more real at-bats than this market has seen in years.
  • Support behind the close. Solutions, implementation, and customer success teams stand behind every deal, so what you sell gets delivered.
  • Sprocket Sports is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
