About the role

Property Accountant – Operations Position Summary The Property Accountant - Operations is responsible for accounting functions of Spinnaker Real Estate Partners’ Operations division. This will include maintaining monthly financial statements for operating entities. Experience with property management operations and accounting and Yardi property management software is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to work effectively on multiple tasks. Key Responsibilities:●    Review and analyze financial and transactional information●    Maintain report layouts including financial spreadsheet models●    Prepare financial statements, including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts●    Research and respond to commercial tenant inquiries●    Serves as primary accounting point of contact for commercial tenants●    Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements for operating activities used to report to principals, investors and lenders●    Implement and maintain robust internal controls for operations accounting●    Monitor and track discrepancies between budget and actual reporting.●    Bank reconciliations for all operating entity bank accounts. ●    Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes for all operating entities●    General Ledger reconciliation●    Prepare and record journal entries●    Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes and controls●    Participates and contributes to special project team including various ad hoc accounting assignments.  Qualifications/Education●    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ●    3+ years of progressive experience in property management finance and accounting●    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Yardi accounting software●    Attention to detail and high level of accuracy●    Strong communication and presentation skills●    Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines●    Ongoing professional development in finance, accounting, and real estate Key Behaviors●    Ethical decision-maker with high integrity●    Proactive in identifying and resolving accounting issues●    Collaborative team player who works well with various departments●    Adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines●    Committed to continuous learning and professional development●    Customer-service oriented, providing timely and accurate information to stakeholders
