Cook Department: Nickle Plate Restaurant Reports To: Manager / Assistant Manager Status: Part-Time Year Round Age: 16 years or older SUMMARYThe primary purpose of a Cook is to prepare food orders for our restaurant while maintaining food safety standards and regulations. This is a part-time year round position, reporting to the Assistant Manager/Manager. Restaurant operational hours are typically Sunday through Saturday 11am to 8/9pm during summer season and Wednesday through Sunday 3pm to 8pm during winter season. Evening and weekend hours are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, cook food items in accordance with food safety standards and regulations Receive and accurately cook, complete all food orders to guest specifications Stock food and supplies and communicate the need for additional supplies and assistance when needed Maintain equipment and immediately report any problems with equipment Clean food prep area throughout and at the end of shift to maintain food safety standards KEY COMPETENCIESCandidate should possess strong communication skills, high degree of integrity, positive attitude, attention to detail and the ability to solve problems Candidate should have the ability to build strong relationships with guests, provide a high level of guest service, and be an effective member of a team Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy Strong customer service skills, both internal and external Maintain a positive attitude Exceptional communication skills while relating to people in a friendly, professional manner Self-motivated; acts without needing directions Perform cleaning duties as needed to maintain a clean, safe work environment This job description describes the general nature of the duties and requirements of this job.
