Role Description:
The Payroll Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Baraboo, WI. This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees, including reviewing timesheets, entering payroll data, and verifying calculations. The Payroll Officer ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and maintains up-to-date payroll records and documentation. Daily tasks include responding to employee payroll inquiries, coordinating with HR and Finance on compensation changes and benefits, and reconciling payroll-related accounts. The role also involves generating payroll reports, supporting audits, and identifying opportunities to improve payroll workflows and controls.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Services to manage end-to-end payroll processes.
Candidates should possess skills in Payroll Taxes and Finance to ensure compliance, accuracy, and proper reporting.
Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact effectively with employees, HR, and Finance teams.
Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications, is beneficial.
Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to manage confidential information with integrity are required.
Previous experience in payroll or accounting and a relevant associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field are preferred.
