About the role

Build the Operations Behind a Growing BusinessKYADTA Building Supplies is looking for an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to help build and scale an early-stage building-supply business within Happe Companies. The business sources finished construction products, including trim, plumbing fixtures, electrical products, lighting, doors and related materials, for affiliated construction companies and external commercial customers. This is not a traditional warehouse management position. You will serve as the company’s operational quarterback, taking direct ownership across procurement, inventory, fulfillment, business systems, operating procedures and customer coordination. You will work closely with company leadership and help determine how the team, systems and processes should develop as the business expands. The strongest candidate will be comfortable moving between the warehouse floor and strategic planning. You should be able to identify operational gaps, establish practical processes, coach employees, and use data to improve how the business runs. What You’ll Own Lead purchasing and procurement for finished building materials Manage supplier relationships, pricing, purchase orders, lead times and product quality Coordinate international sourcing activities while continuing to identify new suppliers Work with the accounting team to strengthen operational workflows in Oracle Net Suite Create and implement standard operating procedures for core operations Partner with the Warehouse Manager to improve inventory accuracy, receiving and fulfillment Help evaluate future warehouse, logistics, staffing and systems needs as the company grows Serve as an operational point of contact for customers when order, product or delivery issues arise Support commercial bid packages, product research and communication of potential material cost savings What Will Help You Succeed Relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, distribution or inventory / fulfillment operations Working knowledge of construction products, building materials or a closely related product environment Experience owning purchasing and supplier relationships Experience using an ERP or inventory-management systemA track record of creating or improving operating procedures Comfort working directly in the details while also helping leadership make informed decisionsA collaborative leadership style and sound judgment about when to act independently and when to involve others Interest in joining a startup environment where roles and processes will evolve as the business grows Ability to work onsite in Ankeny five days per week Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
Preferred Experience: Procurement from international manufacturers Oracle Net Suite Building-materials distribution or construction supply Commercial or multifamily construction Bid-package, estimating, customer-support or sales-support experience Experience working with third-party warehouse or logistics providers
