About the role
- Able to perform basic operations to setup and maintain a job run including loading paper, hanging plates, etc
- Review job ticket, verify ink and paper match the job, and know how to set up fountains, feeders and plates
- Check color specifications and determine how to conduct color matching
- Run the job using standard quality control measures including date stamping and checking offset
- Recognize and eliminate printing problems such as picking, piling, register and other defects
- Use measuring devices such as blanket gauge, densitometer, durometer, PH meter, packing gauge or micrometer as needed
- Enforce SOPs and assist operators when necessary
- Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping functions
- Report time and production results accurately
- Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and read a standard ruler
- High levels of attention to detail
- Ability to work as a team
- Mechanically inclined
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum (2) years prior pressman experience required
- Technical training with Heidelberg sheet fed printing preferred
