About the role
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Apache Solr Search Engineer / Consultant to design, develop, and optimize enterprise search solutions. The role involves configuring search platforms, improving search relevance and performance, managing indexing pipelines, and integrating Solr with enterprise applications to deliver efficient and scalable search capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and maintain Apache Solr search solutions.
Develop and optimize search queries, indexing strategies, faceting, filtering, and relevancy tuning.
Monitor search performance and troubleshoot indexing, query, and scalability issues.
Integrate Solr with applications, APIs, and backend data sources.
Manage Solr collections, schemas, analyzers, and search configurations.
Collaborate with development and business teams to understand search requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Support production deployments, performance tuning, and ongoing platform improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with Apache Solr and enterprise search technologies.
Strong knowledge of search indexing, query optimization, relevance tuning, and data analysis.
Experience with Java, REST APIs, and JSON/XML data formats.
Familiarity with SolrCloud, distributed search, and performance monitoring.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
