Role Description: The Member Service Specialist is a full-time, on-site role located in Danville, VA. This position focuses on assisting members with their day-to-day banking needs, including processing transactions, answering questions about products and services, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. The specialist will handle in-person and phone interactions, provide guidance on available financial solutions, and support members in understanding credit union policies and procedures. The role also includes identifying opportunities for appropriate product and service recommendations, maintaining accurate records, adhering to compliance and security standards, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a consistent, high-quality member experience.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Customer Experience skills to support and enhance every member interaction. Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Phone Etiquette skills for clear, professional, and courteous in-person and telephone support. Candidates should possess solid Sales skills to identify member needs and recommend suitable financial products and services. Attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash, transactions, and member documentation. Ability to learn and use banking software and related technology efficiently. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience in a financial institution, retail banking, or customer-facing role is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business or finance is a plus.
