Staff Engineer, Matching
tokenta terminalNew York (NY)
About the role
Own the marketplace matching engine, order books, and latency-sensitive paths that connect verified AI assets to institutional flow.
About the role:
You will design and operate the systems that pair buyers and sellers across verified listings, C2C offers, and swap requests. This role sits at the center of Tokenta Terminal throughput and requires rigor around correctness, observability, and graceful degradation under load.
Responsibilities:
— Design and implement matching, routing, and fill logic with clear invariants and audit trails. — Partner with protocol and verification teams on asset lifecycle and settlement hooks. — Drive performance work: profiling, capacity planning, and SLO definition for critical paths. — Mentor engineers on code review standards, incident response, and production ownership.
Requirements:
— 8+ years building backend or trading-adjacent systems in production. — Strong experience with distributed systems, queues, and idempotent APIs. — Comfort reading and writing TypeScript, Go, or Rust in a polyglot environment. — Track record shipping high-availability services with measurable SLOs.
Nice to have:
— Experience with marketplace, exchange, or fintech matching infrastructure. — Familiarity with on-chain settlement or escrow integration patterns.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
