About the role
EGS is seeking EI&C Engineers to work for us supporting Nuclear and Department of Energy projects Knoxville, TN, Lenexa KS and Houston, TX. These roles are long term (3-4 year) contract roles that come with top competitive rates and great benefits. You will be required to be a US Citizen for these positions.
Responsibilities: Power System Studies:
- Conduct and review detailed AC/DC calculations using ETAP, including short circuit, voltage drop, arc-flash, motor starting, and relay coordination.
- Procurement & Vendor Support:
- Develop and review equipment specifications.
- Participate in bid evaluations and manage vendor Q&A tracking.
- Design Development:
- Prepare scoping documents and perform constructability reviews.
- Design and review lighting, communications, and security systems.
- Collaboration & Client Interface:
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Engage with clients and implementation personnel.
Travel:
Visit client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and construction coordination.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Experience:
- Commercial nuclear experience at a nuclear power plant in the USA - or - DOE experience at a nuclear sitePE License
- Ability to create discipline specific design deliverables and calculations from scratch for nuclear power stations / nuclear DOE facilitiesEE - ETAP experience - building ETAP models and running load flow, short circuit, motor starting, protection / coordination, and other ETAP module studies
- Strong communication skills and desire to work on a team with other experienced and inexperienced engineers
- Able to mentor and lead inexperienced engineers in creation of design deliverables and calculations
