About the role
We are currently under mandate from a leading firm with a top-tier sports practice who are looking to strengthen their M&A team in New York. They require a 3rd to 6th year* corporate associate to join a busy transactional group advising on deals across professional sports. The work spans the acquisition and sale of teams and franchises, minority stake investments, private equity and institutional capital coming into sport, and transactions involving leagues, sports media and related businesses. You would be working on high-profile matters alongside partners who are recognised leaders in the sector. If you are looking to build a specialist practice in one of the most active deal markets in the US, and to work on matters that make the headlines, please get in touch.
About you:

If you are interested in exploring your opportunities in New York, London, or internationally, we are able to assist you. We have dedicated consultants who specialise in In-House and Private Practice opportunities in the US, UK and internationally on a full and part time basis. We form part of the Hydrogen group which has over 300 consultants globally and work across a variety of sectors. Due to the high volume of applications we receive for each of our roles we are unable to respond on an individual basis. If you have not received a response within 2 weeks of having submitted your details, it is likely that your application has not been successful on this occasion.* Candidates outside of the stated class year range are encouraged to apply provided you can demonstrate the necessary experience and competencies. For more information and a private and confidential consultation please contact Thomas Hartwell on or 0044(0)2070020217.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
