Manufacturing Training & Documentation Industrial Engineer
Location: Fairfield, OH

Position Summary: Seeking a hands-on Industrial Engineer / Manufacturing Training Specialist to support manufacturing and warehouse operations during the transition of production lines to the facility. The role will focus on process mapping, standard work, SOPs, job instructions, OJT materials, and workflow improvements. This is not a junior documentation role. The ideal candidate must have a strong Industrial Engineering/manufacturing background and the ability to observe processes on the production floor, identify improvements, and translate them into practical documentation and training materials.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain SOPs, Standard Work, Job Instructions, OJT materials, and visual work aids. Observe manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, material handling, kitting, and inventory processes. Create process flows, work instructions, checklists, training guides, and visual documentation. Partner with operators, supervisors, engineers, quality, and supply chain teams. Identify process inconsistencies, waste, and opportunities for continuous improvement. Support process changes, line transfers, automation improvements, and implementation of improved methods. Develop training matrices and support employee qualification and cross-training programs. Conduct floor audits to ensure documented processes match actual operations. Maintain document revision control and update materials when processes, equipment, or layouts change.
Required Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Industrial Training, or related areas. Strong manufacturing/warehouse floor experience. Proven experience creating SOPs, work instructions, standard work, OJT, and process documentation. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, process flow, waste reduction, and continuous improvement. Experience with process mapping and workflow development. Strong technical writing and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, or similar tools. Ability to work directly with operators and translate complex processes into clear, practical instructions. Ideal Profile: An experienced Industrial Engineer who can improve processes, understand manufacturing changes, create efficient workflows, and convert those processes into clear training and job documentation.
