About the role

Serving as the analytical engine behind original research, the full-time remote Senior Economist will manage economic research and reports, collaborate with the Communications team to craft compelling narratives, and build a public presence across various media platforms. Key responsibilities Set and own NerdWallet's economic research, conducting quantitative analysis and designing survey research Collaborate with the Communications team to translate findings into pitchable story angles and maintain a pipeline of data narratives Act as NerdWallet's primary economic spokesperson, building relationships with media and representing the organization at events Required qualifications Advanced degree in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, or a related quantitative field 8+ years of applied economics experience, preferably in consumer finance or related fields A public body of work, including published research or analysis for a general audience Demonstrated comfort as a quoted expert in various media formats Hands-on quantitative skills, including proficiency in R or Python, SQL, and survey methodology
