About the role
- Lead civil engineering projects and provide Principal-in-Charge oversight
- Manage and mentor approximately six engineering professionals
- Provide senior technical direction throughout project planning, design, and execution
- Review civil engineering plans, drawings, and technical deliverables
- Manage project priorities, schedules, scope, and execution
- Work directly with clients and project stakeholders
- Guide design decisions and help teams solve complex project challenges
- Review and interpret work produced using AutoCAD and Civil 3DHelp maintain high standards for technical quality and project delivery
- Participate in project meetings, industry conferences, and client meetings
- Travel approximately 25% as project needs require, including occasional overnight travel
- Support the continued growth of BCI's civil engineering presence and capabilities
- RequiredApproximately 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with consideration given to exceptional candidates with 8+ years
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Ability to obtain Ohio PE licensure through reciprocity if not currently licensed in OhioStrong civil design foundation
- Demonstrated project management experienceExperience managing, developing, or mentoring engineering professionals
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3DAbility to review and understand CAD/Civil 3D plans without needing to be a daily production user
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to travel as business and project needs require
- PreferredActive Ohio PE license
- Water resources engineering experienceExperience overseeing complex civil/site development projects
- Experience functioning as a Principal in Charge, senior project leader, or equivalent engineering leader
