About the role

Position: DB2/AS400 Administrator Location: Dallas, TX Responsibilities Installing, configuring, and administering IBM i (AS400) systems and DB2 databases. Installing, upgrading, patching, and fixing databases. Monitoring and tuning database performance, queries, and system resources. Managing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures. Implementing and maintaining security controls, user access, and authorities. Handling capacity planning and environment stability reviews. Troubleshooting database and system issues and performing root cause analysis. Supporting migration, upgrade, and modernization initiatives. Coordinating with application, infrastructure, and operations teams. Ensuring compliance with ITGC, audit, and regulatory requirements. Maintaining technical documentation and standard operating procedures. Performing performance tuning, forecasting, and trending.QualificationsStrong experience with IBM i (AS400) administration. Hands‐on experience with DB2 for i database management. Expertise in backup/recovery, journaling, and high availability concepts. Knowledge of performance tuning and workload management. Familiarity with security, auditing, and compliance controls. Experience supporting 24×7 production environments. Exposure to cloud or hybrid migration projects is a plus.
