About the role

Histologist Prepares tissues and other specimens in histology and as designated under the supervision of the pathologist. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of techniques, principals and instruments and their inter-relationships as well as the physiological conditions affecting test results.
Education: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or similar degree or 1-6 months' equivalent combination of education and histology and/or lab experience. Registration/Certification/Licensure: ASCP, AMT, NCA or equivalent, preferred.
Experience: Position requires 0-6 months' related experience in conjunction with a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or similar degree or 1-6 months' experience if no Bachelor's Degree.
Other Requirements: Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. Ability to work independently, prioritize concurrent projects, meet deadlines, follow through with deliverables, and produce quality work. Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with internal and external customers and in promoting a positive work atmosphere. Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements.
