About the role
Our client, a well-known investment firm, is looking for a detail-oriented Portfolio Wealth & Advisory Associate to join their team in New York City. This person will work closely alongside Wealth Planners and Investment Advisors to help deliver estate, tax, and broader wealth planning strategies for high-net-worth clients and families. The Associate will be involved across the full planning lifecycle — collecting and reviewing client data, building planning inputs and financial models, researching technical questions, drafting client-facing materials, developing internal education content, and keeping planning workflows moving. Team and Client Support Working in support of Wealth Planners and Senior Wealth Planners, the Associate will: Gather, organize, and check client data, planning assumptions, and supporting documentation; maintain accurate records in the team's planning software (e.g., eMoney, Vanilla), covering assets, liabilities, estate structures, cash-flow assumptions, beneficiary designations, insurance, and planning objectives. Put together initial drafts of planning deliverables — cash-flow models, balance sheet visuals, wealth diagrams, baseline projections, and scenario analyses — for a Senior Wealth Planner to review. Assist with estate tax projections and sample planning scenarios using firm-approved assumptions and templates. Read through existing estate planning documents and flag key decision points, gaps, open questions, and planning ideas worth raising with the Senior Wealth Planner. Prepare materials and notes for client meetings, along with follow-up trackers, and coordinate next steps with Investment Advisors. Knowledge Building and Research To strengthen the team's planning capabilities and efficiency, the Associate will: Research estate, transfer tax, income tax, and financial planning topics and summarize the findings for senior review. Help build and keep current a set of state-by-state estate and tax planning references. Contribute to client-facing education materials — primers, slide decks, visuals, and internal templates. Monitor legislative, regulatory, and industry news relevant to planning and share brief internal summaries. Keep planning files, research notes, templates, and standard assumptions organized for consistency across the team. Working with Outside Advisors Alongside the broader Advisory team, the Associate will help maintain an internal directory of outside estate planning attorneys, accountants, and trust companies by region and specialty, and will track relevant conferences and webinars, circulating short recaps after attending. BackgroundA bachelor's degree is required, along with 2-4 years of experience in wealth management, financial planning support, trusts and estates, tax, or a related analytical finance role. Interest in estate planning and tax topics; interest in pursuing CFP or a similar credential over time is viewed favorably.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
