Position Summary:
A growing packaging organization is seeking a New Business Development professional to expand its customer base and increase sales with existing accounts throughout the Northeast region. This role will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, identifying market opportunities, and supporting regional sales growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop new account leads and convert opportunities into long-term customer relationships. Manage assigned customer accounts and coordinate pre-sales and post-sales activities. Build strong customer relationships while promoting a positive customer experience and strengthening customer loyalty. Develop regional action plans, identifying priorities, opportunities, and sales objectives. Analyze market conditions, competitive activity, product trends, customer positioning, and sales performance. Develop and manage customer quotations and commercial offers in accordance with company policies. Support promotional initiatives and special pricing opportunities as appropriate. Prepare annual regional sales forecasts covering revenue and sales volume. Monitor sales performance against objectives and provide regular reporting to management. Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and develop new business throughout the assigned territory. Maintain regular customer contact, including daily and weekly customer meetings as required. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred.5+ years of sales or business development experience within the packaging industry. Experience in cosmetic packaging is preferred, but not required. Demonstrated success developing new accounts and exceeding sales targets. Strong business and financial acumen. Strong negotiation and commercial skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Analytical and market-oriented approach to business development. Experience working with an ERP system, such as Navision or a similar platform. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Power Point. Experience working with inventory or product management systems. Ability and willingness to maintain frequent customer interaction throughout the region. Collaborative, organized, and self-directed approach.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of packaging sales and new business development, with the ability to identify opportunities, build relationships, negotiate effectively, and grow revenue. Candidates from a variety of packaging segments will be considered. Primary cosmetic packaging experience is a plus, but candidates with strong sales experience in other areas of packaging are encouraged to apply.
