About the role

QuikStor has served the self-storage industry since 1987 with management software, gate access security, and payment technology. Under new ownership since 2021, we rebuilt our platform from the ground up and launched the next generation of our self-storage management software in 2024. Storage operators across the country, from single-facility owners to large multi-site management groups, run their businesses on QuikStor every day.
Role Overview: We are hiring an Instructional Designer to own how QuikStor teaches. Our software touches every part of running a storage facility, from move-ins and payments to gate access and reporting. Today most of that knowledge lives in the heads of our support and implementation teams. Your job is to turn it into a structured, self-serve learning program for our customers and our employees. You will own our learning management system end to end, design the curriculum, and build the content. This is a design and program ownership role, not a classroom role. You build the engine that delivers everything else.
Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain training programs for QuikStor customers and internal teams, including e-learning courses, video tutorials, quick-reference guides, and assessments Own the LMS end to end, including course publishing, learning paths, enrollments, user management, and reporting Partner with product, support, and implementation teams to turn subject-matter expertise into clear, structured curriculum Keep training content current with every product release Build onboarding curriculum for new customers and for new hires on our support and implementation teams Develop assessments and certification paths so customers and employees can demonstrate proficiency Measure effectiveness through completion rates, assessment scores, and support ticket trends, and iterate on what the data shows Set the standards for course structure, tone, and visual style so everything we publish feels consistent
Required Qualifications: 3+ years of instructional design or learning and development experience, with a portfolio of e-learning content you have built Hands-on experience administering an LMS, including course setup, learning paths, enrollment rules, and reporting Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, or Camtasia A solid grounding in adult learning principles and design frameworks such as ADDIE or SAM Strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to turn a rambling expert interview into a tight, scannable lesson The curiosity and patience to learn complex software deeply enough to teach it Experience training on B2B software is strongly preferred. Self-storage or property technology experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications: Video production and editing skills Familiarity with SCORM or xAPI content standards Experience building customer certification programs Experience writing for a help center or knowledge base Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance 401k Retirement Plan Vacation and Sick Time 20 Days of Remote Work Annual Bonus Employee Assistance Program Education Assistance Program Employee Discount Store Discounted Storage This is a full-time, on-site role at our El Segundo, CA office.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
