About the role
- Serve as a visible safety presence on the floor, coaching and engaging employees and leaders in real time
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards (with exposure to MSHA and EPA as a plus) as well as state and local regulations
- Lead and support risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and hazard identification efforts
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Deliver safety training, including new hire orientation and ongoing employee education
- Conduct audits, inspections, and ergonomic assessments to identify and mitigate risk
- Maintain HSE metrics, reports, and compliance documentation
- Support environmental reporting, permitting, and audit readiness as needed
- Partner with operations to improve processes, reduce risk, and strengthen overall safety performance
- Contribute to safety management systems and continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field is required
- Interest in pursuing CSP (company support available)3–5+ years of hands-on HSE experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Experience in manufacturing, general industry, or environments with mobile equipment and heavy material handling
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Experience with audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments
- Comfortable working on the floor and engaging directly with employees and leadership
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and hold others accountable
