General Laborer IThis entry-level position involves working on a production line within our facility, with duties rotating weekly or daily. Tasks include packaging hardened blocks of laundry detergent and other chemical blocks, stacking boxes on pallets, capping tubs, and building boxes. This role provides opportunities for growth, as employees can be trained to operate wrapping and filling machines, with potential progression into a chemical mixing role.
Responsibilities: Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs. Record numbers of units handled and moved using daily production sheets or work tickets. Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, and containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, and other equipment. Sort cargo before loading and unloading. Assemble product containers and crates using hand tools and precut lumber. Load and unload ship cargo using winches and other hoisting devices. Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers. Carry needed tools and supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use. Essential Skills Verbal and written communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving ability. Team player and detail-oriented. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations. Ability to lift 15 lbs consistently throughout the day.
Additional Skills & Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required.0-2 years of experience required.1+ year of manufacturing production experience preferred, particularly in a chemical environment. Work Environment: The work environment is very clean, with the production area located on the bottom floor of a three-floor facility. The environment is climate-controlled for comfort. Employees work the first shift, which is from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, transitioning to a 6 am to 4:30 pm schedule, Monday through Thursday, later in the year. Steel toe boots are required for safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
