Buyer – Manufacturing / Supply Chain
Job Type: Contract
Contract Length: Approximately 4–6 months
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support a manufacturing organization on a temporary 4–6 month contract assignment. The ideal candidate has hands-on manufacturing purchasing experience and strong SAP experience, particularly using SAP within procurement and MRP processes. This is a hands-on role for someone who can step in quickly and contribute with minimal training.
Must-Have:
- Qualifications 1+ year of Buyer / Purchasing experience
- Previous manufacturing purchasing experience required
- Hands-on experience using SAP on the procurement/purchasing side
- Experience working with SAP MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
- Ability to review and evaluate MRP requirements to determine what materials need to be purchased and when
- Familiarity with SAP transaction codes (T-codes) used for purchasing and/or MRPHands-on experience with the full purchasing process, including:
- Creating and placing purchase orders
- Obtaining and reviewing vendor confirmations
- Monitoring open orders
- Expediting materials
- Resolving supplier and purchasing issues
- Experience working with outside vendors and suppliers
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and follow-through
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Production, Accounting/AP, and suppliers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly:
Excel
OutlookTeamsAbility to take ownership of issues and work collaboratively to find solutions
Nice-to-Have Qualifications 3+ years of Buyer / Purchasing experience
Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPsExperience purchasing components, materials, or products from outside vendors
Previous contract or project-based manufacturing experience
Additional experience with inventory analysis, supplier performance, or supply chain metrics
