Welder / Fabricator
Position Overview: We’re looking for a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join our team. This role is responsible for laying out, fitting, welding, and fabricating metal weldments and assemblies based on work orders, blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently across different projects with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities: Perform MIG, TIG, stick, and other welding processes Fit and fabricate structural weldments using proper shop practices Weld according to established Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders Perform complicated layouts, fit-up, checking, and straightening Use measuring instruments to verify work and inspect finished weldments Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment Operate equipment including plasma cutters, oxy-fuel torches, saws, mag drills, drill presses, etc. Safely rig and move heavy structures using forklifts and overhead cranes Work with other departments to complete projects efficiently Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Document work progress and complete projects within required deadlines Follow all applicable safety requirements and procedures Work independently while communicating effectively with shop management and team members
Qualifications: Welding, fabrication, fitting, and layout experience Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings Strong understanding of welding and structural fabrication practices Ability to use measurement and inspection equipment Basic math skills Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs. Must own standard tools appropriate for the position Ability to pass a welding test PreferredAWS Certified Welder Experience welding steel, stainless steel, and aluminum Qualified to weld in all positions Experience with complex fabrication layouts and straightening
