About the role

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and experienced Assistant Directorto support the daily operations of a childcare center inDecatur, GA .The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and team player who is passionate about early childhood education and comfortable supporting teachers, children, families, and center leadership.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the Center Director with daily operations and administrative responsibilities. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to teachers and childcare staff. Help coordinate staff schedules and classroom coverage to maintain appropriate teacher-to-child ratios. Support compliance with Georgia childcare licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and center policies. Assist with staff onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development. Monitor classrooms and support teachers with classroom management and daily routines. Maintain a safe, welcoming, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, teachers, and staff. Assist with maintaining accurate child, staff, attendance, licensing, and operational records. Help address parent and staff questions or concerns professionally and promptly. Support enrollment, center tours, family inquiries, and other administrative needs. Step into classrooms and provide coverage when necessary. Help oversee center operations in the Director’s absence.
Qualifications: CDA, TCC, Associate’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred. Previous childcare or early childhood education experience preferred. Previous leadership, supervisory, or childcare administration experience is a plus. Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain. Must successfully complete all required background checks. Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and classroom management skills. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced childcare environment. Dependable, punctual, and professional.
