Our client is a privately owned international chemical distributor specializing in sourcing, supplying, and distributing specialty and industrial chemicals across North America and global markets. As the business continues to expand within the agricultural sector, the company is growing its presence throughout California and Arizona by partnering with growers, agricultural distributors, crop advisors, and agricultural manufacturers. We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Chemical Sales Representative to develop and grow agricultural chemical sales throughout California and Arizona, with California as the primary market. This is a relationship-driven business development role focused on working directly with growers, distributors, agricultural retailers, crop advisors, and other agricultural customers. The ideal candidate already has deep relationships within the regional agricultural community. We are open to hiring multiple strong sales professionals and will also consider experienced player-coach candidates who can personally generate sales while helping build and develop a regional sales team.
Key Responsibilities: Develop new agricultural chemical business throughout California and Arizona; leverage existing industry relationships to open new accounts; prospect growers, distributors, retailers, crop advisors, and other customers; build a strong pipeline of opportunities; convert relationships into long-term customers; meet individual sales and revenue targets Manage and grow existing customer relationships; identify cross-selling opportunities; maintain strong customer communication; develop long-term relationships that drive repeat business Recommend chemical and crop nutrition solutions based on customer needs; assist with product selection and application recommendations; coordinate product evaluations and field trials where appropriate; stay current on market trends and seasonal demand Manage sales activities across California and Arizona; maintain an active sales pipeline and CRM records; prepare quotations and negotiate pricing; develop sales forecasts and market reports; travel regularly throughout the assigned territory Build strategic relationships with oleochemical and agricultural producers; identify new sourcing opportunities; negotiate commercial agreements and supply terms; monitor supplier performance and market competitiveness Work with executive leadership, purchasing, logistics, customer service, suppliers, and technical support; ensure exceptional customer service and reliable product availability Monitor agricultural market trends and feedstock pricing; stay informed on crop and palm oil market developments; understand import/export regulations and competition For senior candidates, opportunity to transition into a player-coach role; help build and develop a regional sales team; expand the company's agricultural market presence
Requirements: 5+ years outside sales in agricultural chemicals, crop nutrition, or agricultural distribution Established California and/or Arizona agricultural relationships Proven ability to convert relationships into new business and grow existing accounts Strong regional market knowledge, technical sales capability, and willingness to travel
Compensation: $120,000-$200,000 USD target compensation.
