Position Responsibilities: The Laborist provides comprehensive care to pregnant women, delivers babies, and manages gynecological emergencies. Provide obstetric and gynecological care to patients during shifts. Attend deliveries and assist in the management of labor and childbirth, including performing cesarean sections and other surgical interventions as needed. Evaluate and manage obstetric emergencies such as preterm labor, preeclampsia, and fetal distress. Perform surgical procedures related to gynecology, such as suction D&Cs, emergency surgeries to include ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, etc. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, midwives, neonatologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care for patients. Document patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records. Stay up to date with advances in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing medical education and professional development activities. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent. Education, Experience, and
Licensing Requirements: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Completion of residency training in obstetrics and gynecology. Board certification or Board eligibility in obstetrics and gynecology. Active New York Medical License, CDS, and DEA, or ability to obtain. Demonstrated clinical competence in obstetric and gynecological care, including surgical skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members. Ability to work independently and make quick, evidence-based decisions in high-pressure situations. Willingness to work overnight shifts on a regular basis, including weekends and holidays. Environment Conditions Work is performed in a typical medical/hospital environment. Pay or shift range: $250,000 USD to $285,000 USDThe posted salary range is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role. However, final offers may fall outside this range based on experience, skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons. This range is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses/incentive compensation or benefits.
