Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift: Day Shift
Job Description: The Workers’ Compensation Claim Manager will coordinate, administer, and oversee all phases of the self-insured workers’ compensation program, from the initial report of injury through claim closure.
Key Responsibilities: Manage workers’ compensation claims from initial injury reporting through closure. Work directly with claims management software, including ICE.Review injury reports and coordinate reporting with occupational health resources. Serve as the primary point of contact for injured employees regarding lost-time inquiries and workers’ compensation payroll matters. Coordinate with insurance carriers, Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), and occupational health clinics to ensure timely claim progression. Administer return-to-work and modified-duty programs in partnership with employees, managers, and the Leave of Absence office. Ensure compliance with workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Develop policies, procedures, training materials, and loss-prevention initiatives. Educate departments on potential exposure, risk mitigation, and safety requirements. Analyze claims, loss statistics, and injury trends to identify risk exposures, prevention opportunities, and cost-reduction strategies. Manage claim-related vendors and external partners and monitor carrier/TPA performance. Address service issues and report claims to excess carriers when applicable. Maintain accurate and confidential claim records and documentation. Pull reports and claim data from the claims management system. Obtain certificates of insurance as requested.
Ideal Candidate: Experience managing workers’ compensation claims/programs. Knowledge of self-insured workers’ compensation administration. Experience working with insurance carriers, TPAs, occupational health providers, and vendors. Knowledge of return-to-work and modified-duty programs. Strong understanding of workers’ compensation compliance and regulations. Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
