Mortgage Processor and Closer Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Mortgage Processor and Closer for a consulting opportunity with a financial services client.
Responsibilities: Process and close residential mortgage loans from application through funding. Collect, review, and verify borrower documentation and ensure loan files are complete and compliant. Coordinate with loan officers, underwriters, borrowers, title companies, and settlement agents to move loans efficiently through the pipeline. Manage underwriting and pre-closing conditions, ensuring all requirements are satisfied prior to closing. Prepare, review, and coordinate closing disclosures, closing packages, and funding documents. Monitor loan pipelines and meet closing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Ensure compliance with bank, investor, FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC, and applicable regulatory guidelines. Maintain accurate loan records and updates within the loan origination system.
Qualifications: 3+ years of mortgage processing, closing, or mortgage operations experience. Strong knowledge of conventional mortgage lending and secondary market guidelines. Experience with FHA, VA, jumbo, construction, and portfolio loans preferred. Working knowledge of TRID, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, and other mortgage regulations.
