About the role
- Perform GTAW/TIG welding, with an emphasis on stainless steel fabrication.
- Operate welding machines, hand tools, drill presses, manual mills, and manual lathes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Set up and operate a variety of metal fabrication equipment.
- Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, filler gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Identify welding and fabrication issues during setup and production and make appropriate adjustments or corrections.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and dimensional requirements.
- Perform basic fabrication operations including cutting, drilling, grinding, buffing, and fitting.
- Operate material-handling equipment such as forklifts, power lifts, jib cranes, hand trucks, and pallet jacks/skid jacks.
- Complete production paperwork and enter required data accurately.
- Follow verbal and written instructions and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work effectively with team members and assist with training others when needed.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
- Strong understanding of welding and fabrication processes.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform basic math, including fractions, decimals, metric-to-inch conversions, basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry using a calculator.
- Ability to troubleshoot welding and fabrication problems and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Willingness to learn new skills and train others.
- Experience operating forklifts, power lifts, jib cranes, and other material-handling equipment is preferred.
