Job Description:
Overview- Keep the DC area neat, clean, and up to Roche standards.- Update DCIM with information regarding new, upgraded, or deinstalled hardware.- Manage service requests through our ticketing tool, Service Now.- Escort third-party vendors and other personnel through the Data Center.- Run pre-terminated cables (Single Mode, Multimode, CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A) and dress them neatly.- Install hardware (Networking, Compute, Storage, etc.) into racks, connect to power, Ethernet, and KVM, and properly label all hardware, cables, and materials.- Install rack-mounted PDUs and set up network interfaces – must have console experience- Participate in projects to deinstall, replace, or upgrade hardware.- Manage stock of spares, parts, and materials, including placing replacement orders.- Under the direction of an engineer, replace FRUs in hardware (fans, power supplies, disk drives, memory, etc.).- Consult with engineering on new installs, replacements, and deinstalls.- Perform on-call and after-hours support as needed.- Handle logistics (picking up packages, shipping between sites, etc.).- Manage e-waste for IT components leaving the Data Center.
