- Abstract and analyze trauma patient data for inclusion in the Trauma Registry
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for state agencies, regulatory bodies, and trauma organizations
- Support quality improvement initiatives through accurate data collection and analysis
- Assist with hospital trauma center designation and verification activities
- Ensure timely submission of data to state and national trauma databases, including: National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP)
- Maintain trauma program documentation, policies, and committee records as applicable
- Participate in registry validation and data accuracy initiatives
- Support injury prevention and trauma education efforts through data analysis and reporting
- What You'll Bring
- Minimum three years of experience in healthcare or trauma-related services
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical record documentation
- Excellent attention to detail and data management skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting productivity and reporting deadlines
- Obtain Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) certification within 18 months of hire
- Experience with trauma registry abstraction and ICD-10 coding
- Formal ICD-10 coding training
- Successful completion of anatomy coursework
- Certified Trauma Registrar (CTR)
- Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
- Medical Technology education or related healthcare experience
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Passionate about healthcare quality and patient outcomes
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating across departments
