Role Description:
As a Sr. Software Engineer at PAYNOTE, you will design, build, and maintain backend services that power secure payment processing, instant settlements, and global payouts. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable software solutions. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, well-tested code, reviewing peer implementations, troubleshooting production issues, and optimizing system performance. You will contribute to architectural decisions, champion engineering best practices, and help mentor less-experienced team members. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami, FL.
Qualifications:
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and system design. Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with experience building scalable APIs and services. Advanced Programming skills in one or more modern languages commonly used for backend systems (e.g., Java, C#, Go, Python, or similar).Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns. Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).Knowledge of secure coding practices and familiarity with payments or fintech systems is highly beneficial. Comfort working in an agile environment, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
