Working Hours: 8:30 – 5:00 Remuneration: $100,000 - $135,000 (neg.) & benefits package The role of the Automation Engineering Manager – Robotics & Automation will involve: Hands-on technical ownership of robotics and automation within a high-mix sheet metal manufacturing environment Programming, teaching and optimising Universal Robots cobots, Amada robotic bending cells, Fanuc deburring robots and robotic welding equipment Selecting and specifying grippers, suction cups, vacuum systems, fixtures, regrip stations and other end-of-arm tooling Improving the utilisation, productivity and performance of existing robotic and automated cells Managing and developing a library of 2,000+ existing robot programmes through naming standards, revision control, routings and setup documentation Evaluating future automation opportunities and identifying where existing robotics can be redeployed before new capital investment is made Training and developing robot programmers, setup personnel and operators to ensure automated cells can operate effectively across shifts Supporting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and spare-parts requirements for robotic cells Establishing appropriate safety standards for collaborative and industrial robot cells, including risk assessments, guarding, light curtains and interlocks The ideal applicant will be an Automation Engineering Manager – Robotics & Automation with: Must have 7+ years' experience within sheet metal fabrication, metal forming or a closely related manufacturing environment Must have at least 3 years' hands-on experience programming and running industrial robots or cobots in production Must have hands-on Universal Robots experience, including Poly Scope, URCaps or equivalent Experience with robotic press brake tending, ideally Amada or comparable bending automation Experience selecting and applying end-of-arm tooling including mechanical grippers, vacuum/suction cups, magnetic grippers and quick-change systems Ideally have Amada robotic bending and Fanuc robot experience, including teach pendant and Roboguide or similar Experience with Salvagnini panel benders or comparable panel-bending technology would be advantageous Ideally have experience with laser cutting automation, nesting and the transition from cutting to forming High-mix, low-volume manufacturing experience would be advantageous Would consider someone studying this at university/a recent graduate
