We are seeking an experienced Freelance Designer with a strong background in men's knits to support our design team across men's underwear, loungewear and knitwear.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Freelance Designer will assist with the design and development of men's knit products from concept through production. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing men's knit apparel and understands fabrics, construction, fit and the technical requirements needed to successfully develop knit product.
This position offers flexibility and may be in-house and/or remote, depending on the project and candidate. Compensation can be structured hourly or by project and is based on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES Design and develop men's underwear, loungewear and knitwear
Create seasonal concepts, color palettes and product designs consistent with the Goodlife aesthetic
Develop CADs, sketches, colorways and detailed design specifications
Research relevant trends, fabrics, trims and market direction
Select and work with appropriate knit fabrics and materials
Collaborate with product development, technical design and production teams
Review samples and provide clear design comments and revisions
Maintain consistency in fit, quality and brand aesthetic throughout the development process
Manage freelance projects and deadlines independently
REQUIREMENTS Previous men's knit design experience is REQUIRED
Experience with men's underwear, loungewear, knitwear and/or related knit categories
Strong understanding of knit fabrics, garment construction, fit and product development
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Strong CAD and technical sketching skills
Ability to translate concepts and inspiration into commercial, wearable product
Excellent attention to detail, organization and communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
Experience working within a contemporary, premium or lifestyle apparel brand is a plus
