About the role
- Set up and operate press and forming equipment according to company standards
- Maintain machinery in working condition (lubrication, cleaning, replacing worn components, tooling adjustments)
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency
- Perform changeovers and setups following approved procedures and production requirements
- Ensure all safety devices, guards, and controls are functioning properly
- Monitor production to maintain quality standards and minimize scrap
- Use gauges and inspection tools to verify product conformance
- Respond to jams, line stoppages, and mechanical issues safely and effectively
- Train and support operators and packers on proper procedures, safety, and efficiency
- Recommend improvements to productivity, quality, and equipment performance
- Complete required documentation including inspection and production reports
- 35+ years of experience operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude- you can diagnose, adjust, and repair equipment issues
- Experience with presses, metal forming, stamping, or similar equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and setup instructions
- Hands-on experience with tools, components, and machine adjustments
- Strong attention to quality, safety, and efficiency standards
- Proven reliability and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Experience training or leading operators is a plus
