About the role
- Provide remarkable customer service when attending to customer needs
- Follow all federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies regarding meat operations, safety, and sanitation
- Fulfill weekly product orders while adhering to store policies in order to maintain adequate supply levels
- Achieve financial goals such as sales, gross profit maximization, as well as minimization of shrink and supply expense
- Enforce a "Clean as you go" policy to ensure sanitary work conditions
- Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
- Follow all store procedure and shrink guidelines with respect to conversions, markdowns and discards of meat products
- Selection, training, development and scheduling of meat associates
- Complete all necessary paperwork relating to meat department (i.e. KLT, SIR380)
- Ensure proper temperatures are maintained in cooler, prep area, freezer, and cases and are in working condition
- Knowledge of meat and different cuts of meat
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
- Possess basic computer skills
- Possess strong communication skills
- Physical Requirements Equipment Used:
- Operation of the following: Knives, Computerized Scales, Bandsaw, Patty Machine, High Pressure Cleaner, Pallet Jack, Grinder, Cubing Machine, Walkie Stacker, Wrapping Machine, Baler/Compactor
