About the role

Our client, a well-established real estate firm based in West Palm Beach, FL, is seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Associate to join their accounting team. This individual will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions across the firm's real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and prior experience with AP/AR, preferably within real estate, property management, or a related industry.
Responsibilities: Process and manage accounts payable invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and timely payments. Handle accounts receivable activities, including recording payments, preparing invoices, and monitoring outstanding balances. Reconcile vendor statements, tenant accounts, and bank or other financial accounts. Research and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payments, and account balances. Prepare and process checks, ACH payments, and other disbursements. Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation. Assist with monthly and year-end close activities. Review tenant charges, receipts, and other property-related transactions for accuracy. Assist with collections and follow up on outstanding receivables as needed. Communicate with vendors, tenants, property managers, and internal teams regarding billing and payment questions. Support the accounting team with reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting-related projects. Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general accounting. Real estate, property management, or commercial real estate experience is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliation processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas. Experience with accounting or property management software is a plus.
