PM&R Locums Job in Washington, DC Mon-Wed or Fri-Sun Blocks 7am - 7pm Shift Details Coverage timeframe is Oct 1 Feb 1 (specific dates to follow) Weekly dates will be Mon-Wed or Fri-Sun blocks Daily schedule is 7am 7pm Manage daily ARU IP census of 13-16 patients Also perform IP consults Assignment Details The assignment supports a 16-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation unit located within the main hospital. All patient rooms are private. Primary diagnostic categories include stroke, neurological disorders, brain injury, orthopedic conditions, amputation, spinal cord injury, and medically complex conditions. Programs include CARF-accredited comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation, a stroke specialty program, and an amputation specialty program. Medical support includes two physicians and one advanced practitioner. Nursing support includes 16 staff registered nurses and a nursing educator. Therapy support includes two senior therapists, two clinical specialists, three occupational therapists, three physical therapists, one speech-language pathologist, and one float staff member in each discipline. Additional support includes two full-time social workers, two admission liaisons, and seven patient care and rehabilitation technicians. Inpatient responsibilities include daily safety rounds, patient care rounding, rehabilitation team supervision, therapy progress review, medical comorbidity management, admission assessments, rehabilitation goal setting, discharge-readiness determinations, and coordination with consulting specialists. The physician participates in team conferences four days per week. The physician works with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, case managers, social workers, psychologists, prosthetists, orthotists, and other physicians.
